What counts as a session?

Each Claude Code conversation you push to the cloud counts as one session. Pushing the same session again (same session ID) overwrites the previous version — it doesn’t create a new session.

What counts as a device?

A device is a unique machine name. It’s auto-detected from your hostname the first time you push from that machine. Pushing from the same machine with the same hostname doesn’t create a new device.

Plan enforcement

Limits are checked when you push a session:

• Session limit — if you’re on the Free plan and have 25 confirmed sessions, new uploads are rejected with a 403 error.
• Device limit — if you’re on Free and have 3 devices, pushing from a new (4th) machine is rejected. Pushing from an existing device is always allowed.

You’ll see a clear error message telling you to upgrade or delete old sessions/devices.

Upgrading

1. Go to app.codeteleport.com/billing
2. Choose Pro Quarterly ($5/quarter) or Pro Annual ($15/year)
3. Complete checkout via Polar (our payment processor)
4. Your plan is upgraded immediately — limits are lifted

Managing your subscription

Pro users can manage their subscription (switch plans, update payment, cancel) through the Polar customer portal. Access it from the Manage Subscription section on the billing page.

If you cancel Pro, you’re downgraded to Free limits. Your existing sessions and devices are kept — you just can’t create new ones beyond the Free limits.
