Devices
A device in CodeTeleport represents a machine you push or pull sessions from. Devices are tracked so you can filter sessions by source machine and so CodeTeleport can enforce plan limits.
Auto-detection
Section titled “Auto-detection”CodeTeleport detects your device name automatically from your machine’s hostname. The first time you push a session, the device is registered with your account.
$ hostnameAlices-Laptop.localThis becomes the device name shown in session listings and the dashboard. You do not need to configure anything.
Device limits
Section titled “Device limits”The number of devices you can use depends on your plan:
| Plan | Device limit |
|---|---|
| Free | 3 devices |
| Pro | Unlimited |
If you hit the device limit, CodeTeleport will reject the push with a 403 error. You can free up a slot by removing an old device from the dashboard.
Managing devices
Section titled “Managing devices”You can view and manage your registered devices at app.codeteleport.com under the Devices tab. From there you can:
- See all registered devices and when they were last active
- Remove devices you no longer use
- See which sessions were pushed from each device
